A&P Ranch — About Us

Located along State Highway 67 in Sedalia, Colorado, A&P Ranch is a working family ranch committed to raising wholesome, responsibly grown food — the same food we put on our own table.

What started as a small livestock operation has grown into a year-round, diversified ranch offering beef, pork, eggs, sourdough bread, coffee blends, and seasonal hay. We also run a Ranch Share Program, providing everything from quarter and half shares to whole animals, and curated meat bundles for families who want exceptional meat without the mystery of big-box suppliers.

Our Philosophy

We believe meat should taste better, be raised better, and come from a place you know.
Our animals spend their days on open pasture — not in feedlots — and are handled with care from birth to processing. We work with trusted, USDA-inspected processors to ensure every cut is handled to the highest standard.

Good food takes time. We honor that process.

Community & Connection

A&P Ranch is proud to be part of the Sedalia area agricultural community.
We support Colorado’s ranching heritage, partner with local processors and suppliers, and welcome neighbors to get to know where their food comes from — whether that’s through a ranch pickup, or a chat over coffee.

Our Roots Run Deep

At A&P Ranch, we believe you should know where your food comes from — and trust how it was raised.

Nestled in Sedalia, Colorado, A&P Ranch is a family-run operation built on hard work, open pastures, and honest ranching. What began as a passion for raising animals the right way has grown into a commitment to providing high-quality beef, pork, and farm goods directly to our community.

Raised the Right Way

We don’t rush nature — and we don’t cut corners.

Our animals are humanely raised with room to roam and a natural diet, just as ranching was meant to be. We work closely with USDA-inspected processors to ensure every cut meets strict standards for quality, safety, and flavor.

From pasture to processor, we stay hands-on every step of the way — so you don’t have to wonder what’s on your plate.

Meet the Ranchers

The Swaabs

A&P Ranch is owned and operated by the Swaab family — a hands-on crew who lives the lifestyle they believe in, raising livestock with care, respect, and a whole lot of hard work.

The Family Behind the Brand

The Swaabs didn’t step into ranching for the aesthetics — they built it from the ground up.
Every pasture rotation, feed mix, calf delivery, fence line, and early-morning chore is handled by the same people whose name is on the ranch.

If you message the ranch, pick up meat at the gate, or ask questions about cuts or shares, you’re talking directly to a member of the Swaab family — not a sales rep or a middleman.

What the Swaabs Believe In

  • Animals raised with dignity, not shortcuts

  • Food you can trace back to a place and a family — not a warehouse

  • Ranching done the traditional way, with modern stewardship and transparency

  • Customers treated like neighbors, not order numbers

How They Work

The Swaabs take a start-to-finish approach to ranching:

  • Calving and farrowing

  • Daily feed and pasture management

  • Working with trusted USDA processors

  • Packaging and pickup coordination

  • And yes — delivering sourdough, eggs, or hay when the season calls for it

They believe if their name is attached to it, they should have touched it — every step of the way.

Why It Matters

A&P Ranch isn’t a hobby or a side project — it’s the Swaabs’ way of investing in:

  • Their land

  • Their livestock

  • Their community

  • And the families who choose to support local agriculture

Their goal is simple: raise food they’re proud of and share it with people who value knowing where that food comes from.
